Coconut Water
Coconut Water
Coconut palms are grown in more than 90 countries of the world, with a total production of 62 million tons. Botanically, the coconut is a drupe, and not a nut, as many would think (like mangos).

Coconut water serves to hydrate the body boasting 294 mg of potassium. Unlike any other beverage on the market, coconut water contains five essential electrolytes that are present in the human body such as: calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and sodium.

Since it is isotonic to human plasma, coconut water can be used in extreme emergencies to quickly re-hydrate the human body if administered intravenously. In folklore, It was not uncommon for the drink to be used in poorer, third-world countries to save human lives.

Pineapple
Pineapple
Pineapple, Ananas comosus, belongs to the Bromeliaceae family, from which one of its most important health-promoting compounds, the enzyme bromelain, was named. Bromelain extracts can be obtained from both the fruit core and stems of pineapple. The Spanish name for pineapple, pina, and the root of its English name, reflects the fruit's visual similarity to the pinecone.

Pineapples are actually not just one fruit but a composite of many flowers whose individual fruitlets fuse together around a central core. Each fruitlet can be identified by an "eye," the rough spiny marking on the pineapple's surface. Excessive inflammation, excessive coagulation of the blood, and certain types of tumor growth may all be reduced by therapeutic doses of bromelain when taken as a dietary supplement. Studies are not available, however, to show these same potential benefits in relation to normal intake of pineapple within a normal meal plan was interesting for us to share.

Vanilla
Vanilla
The vanilla bean plant grows in Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America. The ancient herbalists and shamans of Mesoamerica understood the special qualities of vanilla for many centuries. According to a study published in 2013 in the "Indian Journal of Experimental Biology, " vanilla's anti-carcinogenic property primarily comes from the compound vanillin, a polyphenol known to be a powerful antioxidant and cognitive enhancing agent.

Vanilla also contains chemicals called vanilloids that activate receptors in a similar way to capsaicin. Capsaicin is well known to reduce inflammation and improve mental performance.
